He wasn’t entirely disappointing as the host of Nabu, but he wasn’t exactly popular either. Nelson is a relatively new character, making his debut in 2007. He found the Helmet of Fate in a dumpster while homeless, and he was far from exemplary in his use of the artifact. He was a psychiatrist with a wonderful family and career that he lost after having an affair and slipping into a dark depression. Nelson is the grandnephew of the original Doctor Fate, Kent Nelson. His age simply doesn’t line up with the casting call, which is a true shame.
